Investigating Homicide on Campus: Strategies for Public Safety

This course provides public safety professionals and campus law enforcement with the knowledge and strategies needed to investigate homicide incidents in educational settings. Participants will learn how to secure crime scenes, collect and preserve evidence, interview witnesses, and coordinate with local and federal law enforcement agencies. Emphasis is placed on applying investigative best practices while maintaining campus safety, supporting victims, and communicating effectively with the community. Learners will develop the skills to conduct thorough, legally sound investigations that enhance safety and accountability on campus.
