The IACLEA PReP is an organizational assessment of a campus public safety agency’s administration and operations. Using a framework consistent with professional standards, PReP provides clients with an overall assessment of their agency’s policies and practices.
The peer review examines significant aspects of campus public safety administration including organization and management, operations and enforcement, administrative and technical services, human resources, and Clery Act and Title IX.
This service is ideal for incoming chiefs and directors, administrators seeking an objective overview of a core university function, and long-term agency heads who want insights from “fresh eyes.” The PReP assessment enables the agency to successfully manage emerging conditions or trends, placing special emphasis on actions that ensure the agency is accountable to campus administrators and the campus community.
A three-person team will spend time on site conducting interviews of key public safety staff, campus administrators, and stakeholders, reviewing agency policies, plans and reports, and observing agency operations. The team will prepare a draft written report of findings, observations, and recommendations for the agency’s review prior to submitting the final report.

PReP Fees
Institutions up to 12,000 students
For IACLEA institutional members the fee for a full departmental review, with a three-member team on site for three days, is $18,000 plus expenses. The fee for non-members is $20,000 plus expenses.
Travel, lodging, and per diem expenses for an assessor generally range between $1,000 and $1,200. These costs are itemized and billed separately.
Institutions with more than 12,000 students
For institutional members, the fee for a full departmental review, with a three-member team on site for five days, is $23,000 plus expenses. The fee for non-members is $25,000 plus expenses.
Travel, lodging, and per diem expenses for an assessor generally range between $1,000 and $1,200. These costs are itemized and billed separately.
