IACLEA has flipped the traditional training model upside down and made it easier and more affordable to participate in IACLEA’s expanding campus public safety training offerings.

See an IACLEA training you like, but can’t make it? Or want training for numerous people in your agency—but don’t have the budget to fly people all over the country? IACLEA may be able to bring in-person or virtual training to you.

You do the on-the-ground work: assemble the participants, secure a location, and set up the venue. We send the trainer at a greatly reduced cost than sending numerous people to training locations.

More About Trainings

Critical training for responding to active shooter situations. Participants will learn about the psychology and behavior of active assailants, effective communication and coordination strategies, and best practices for law enforcement, EMS, public safety, and fire response. The course includes case studies, historical perspectives and engaging content to enhance preparedness and response capabilities for your campus communities. Ideal for public safety professionals, this training ensures you are equipped with pertinent knowledge to handle these high-stress incidents effectively.

There are currently many mental health-related challenges in campus public safety. This course will provide first responders, supervisors, and administrators the tools they need to identify major mental illnesses, how to better assist those in crisis, including alternatives to arrest, options for non-sworn campus public safety, building stronger bridges to campus and community mental health partners, and a discussion around officer wellness and ensuring we are taking care of each other. This training is relevant to campus law enforcement & public safety, as well as our partners in municipal, state, and federal law enforcement. Other campus administrators could also benefit from attending this class.

This course will examine what is needed to properly prepare and respond to protests and demonstrations. Police tactics, the First Amendment, and non-sworn responses will be highlighted throughout this training. This training is relevant to campus law enforcement & public safety, as well as our partners in municipal, state, and federal law enforcement.

This course focuses on the realities of sexual assault for victims and offenders, the impact of trauma on a victim, how Title IX impacts the law enforcement response, and investigative strategies for sexual assault cases. Specific topics include: Realities of Campus Sexual Assault, Title IX (TIX) and Working Collaboratively, Neurobiology of Trauma, Trauma Informed Investigations, Investigative Strategies, and Consent. This training is relevant to campus law enforcement & public safety, as well as our partners in municipal, and state law enforcement. This training can also be expanded to include Title IX staff, Conduct staff, other campus administrators, advocates, prosecutors, and more. Discussions on working together collaboratively can be expanded to include all partners that are in attendance.

This training will cover hate groups operating in the area; how hate groups operate on campuses; law enforcement & public safety response to hate group rallies; how to prepare for demonstrations/protests; what meetings you have and with whom in the planning stage; practical information on responding to large crowds/crowd management; balancing First Amendment rights and public safety; and de-escalation tactics. This training is relevant to campus law enforcement & public safety, as well as our partners in municipal, state, and federal law enforcement. Other campus administrators could also benefit from attending this class.
