The IACLEA Basic Accreditation Scholarship is a unique opportunity designed to help smaller campus public safety and security agencies begin their accreditation journey.
Funded through a U.S. Department of Justice COPS Office grant, the scholarship provides selected agencies with a one-year accreditation scholarship to offset first-year accreditation fees.
Created specifically for agencies serving smaller institutions with non-sworn and/or unarmed officers, the program offers a streamlined path to accreditation through the IACLEA Basic Standards Manual, which contains 137 standards—90 fewer than the full accreditation program. Participating agencies receive guidance, support, and access to nationally recognized best practices that strengthen operations, enhance professionalism, and build trust within their campus communities.
IACLEA is committed to expanding access to accreditation and helping agencies achieve excellence, regardless of size or resources. This scholarship opportunity removes barriers and provides a practical, affordable pathway toward demonstrating accountability, effectiveness, and commitment to public safety.
