Privacy Policy

The International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators, Inc. (“IACLEA”) wants you to know how we address privacy issues on the IACLEA web site (the “Site”). IACLEA provides the privacy policy below (the “Privacy Policy”) to explain how your personal information will be treated by IACLEA. IACLEA reserves the right to amend this Privacy Policy at any time. Please check back frequently in order to see changes. Your use of the Site constitutes your acceptance of the Privacy Policy, as it may be amended from time to time.

  • a) IACLEA may collect and/or track: (1) the home server domain names, e-mail addresses, type of computer, and type of Web browser of visitors to the Site; (2) the e-mail addresses of visitors that communicate with IACLEA or the Site via e-mail; (3) information knowingly provided by the visitor in online order forms, registration forms and surveys, (including but not limited to name, address, e-mail and other personal profile data); and (4) aggregate and user-specific information regarding page views.
  • b) IACLEA may place Internet “cookies” on visitors’ hard drives. Internet cookies save data about individual visitors, such as the visitor’s name, password, user-name, screen preferences, the pages of a site viewed by the visitor, and the advertisements viewed or clicked by the visitor. When the visitor revisits the Site, IACLEA may recognize the visitor by the Internet cookie and customize the visitor’s experience accordingly. Visitors may decline Internet cookies, if any, by using the appropriate features of their Web client software, if available; however, this may impair certain features of the Site
  • c) When a visitor performs a search within the Site, IACLEA may record information identifying the visitor or linking the visitor to the search performed. IACLEA may also record limited information associated with every search request made by the visitor and use that information to, among other things, solve technical problems with the service and to calculate overall usage statistics.

IACLEA may use personally identifiable information in a number of ways, such as:

  • a) To communicate with you about your membership account, or to communicate information about the Site.
  • b) To build higher quality, more useful services, such as by analyzing usage trends, and by measuring demographics and interests regarding specific areas of the Site.
  • c) To provide you with prompt and effective customer service.
  • d) To support the operation of the Site (such as account maintenance and record keeping), troubleshoot problems, resolve disputes, and to enforce our Terms and Conditions.
  • e) To inform you about goods and services related to IACLEA and developments campus public safety. You will have the option of opting out of further communications of this type by sending an email to info@iaclaea.org

IACLEA may disclose personally identifiable information about you to Third Parties as follows:

  • a) With your consent.
  • b) To IACLEA’s agents and advisors (such as our accountants or attorneys). We only disclose the personal information necessary for them to provide their services to you or to us, and only under strict confidentiality restrictions.
  • c) As IACLEA believes necessary to: (a) comply with law (including court and government orders, and civil subpoenas); (b) enforce or apply IACLEA’s Terms and Conditions and other agreements; or (c) protect the rights, property, or safety of IACLEA, our users, or others.
  • d) If you partake (or we reasonably suspect that you are partaking) in any illegal or potentially illegal activity. We may disclose personal information even without a subpoena, warrant, or other court order, to the extent we feel is necessary to inform and cooperate with law enforcement agencies or other appropriate authorities.
  • e) In aggregated form, i.e., information about multiple users collectively without identifying any individual user, such as the total number of visitors to a particular section in a given week.

To the extent that IACLEA is able to determine the age of users by their submissions to, or communications with the Site, IACLEA will not knowingly (a) collect or post information from individuals under eighteen (18) years of age (“Children” or “Child”) without their parent’s or guardian’s consent, or (b) provide any personally identifying information collected from Children, regardless of its source, to any third party for any purpose whatsoever.

For electronic commerce transactions conducted through the Site, IACLEA has implemented certain security features to prevent the unauthorized release of or access to personal financial information. In particular, all financial transactions are conducted through a secure server. The secure server encrypts all financial information a visitor inputs before it is sent to IACLEA.

The Site may contain links to other Internet web sites. Unless we explicitly state otherwise, we have no control over these third party sites and their privacy practices. This Privacy Policy applies only to information you supply (or that we collect) in connection with use of the Site. You should review third party privacy policies specific to the third party web sites to which this Site provides links.

You are entitled to request the personal information that we hold no longer be stored. To do so, please email info@iaclea.org. Please note that this may limit your access to some of the services we provide.

IACLEA reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to change this User Agreement from time to time, and your continued use after such change(s) take effect will be deemed to constitute your acceptance of and agreement to the new User Agreement.
Term and Termination
This User Agreement will take effect as soon as you begin using this Site. IACLEA reserves the right, at any time and for any reason, without notice to you, (i) to deny you access to this Site, any materials or Content on the Site, or any portion thereof; (ii) to change, remove or discontinue any of the Content, materials or information available on or through this Site; or (iii) to terminate this User Agreement.

You and IACLEA and any of its Directors, Officers, Employees, Members, Chapters or Affiliates agree that this User Agreement and the relationship between you and IACLEA will be governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, U.S.A., without respect to its conflict of laws provisions and that venue with respect to any dispute between you and IACLEA will rest exclusively in the state and federal courts located in the State of Connecticut, U.S.A. The failure of IACLEA to exercise or enforce any right or provision of this Agreement shall not constitute a waiver of such right or condition. You agree that regardless of any statute or law to the contrary, any claim or cause of action arising out of or related to the Site or this Agreement must be filed within one year after such claim or cause of action arose. IACLEA may provide notice to you by email or regular mail. If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid by any court having competent jurisdiction, the invalidity of such provision shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of this Agreement, which shall remain in full force and effect.
