Hidden Risks: Emerging Threats in Higher Education

This course examines the evolving threat landscape affecting colleges and universities and explores the often-overlooked vulnerabilities that can impact campus safety. Participants will analyze emerging risks facing higher education institutions, including technological threats, behavioral concerns, insider risks, infrastructure vulnerabilities, and evolving criminal activity. Emphasis is placed on understanding how social, technological, and environmental changes create new safety challenges for campus communities.

Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the modern campus threat environment and develop foundational skills in threat recognition, situational awareness, and proactive safety planning. The course prepares future public safety professionals, campus administrators, and security practitioners to better anticipate and address emerging risks within higher education settings.
